Healing of the different ear piercings

Here is a list of the various healing times depending on the style of ear piercing, as well as somme health andsafety recommendations so that this crucial phase goes smoothly for you. All lengths of time given here are average lengths.
First a few general recommendations for a better healing:
- Always wash your hands well with water and a ph neutral soap.
- Clean your piercing hole without rubbing or scrubing it, using a ph neutral soap and a cotton bud, making sure you delicately wipe off impurities and lymph flows.
- You can also apply some physiological serum, then dry by tapping it with a kleenex. Avoid cotton fibres as they can carry bacterias.
- Try not to use too much antiseptic solutions after the first 15 days, as it would delay the process of healing.
- Don't drink alcohol or take drugs during the healing time; alcohol fluidifies blood and would delay the process.
- In case you are faced with a problem or if you get worried about the good going of the healing, don(t hesitate to contact your GP or your chemist.
