Ear piercing aftercare
You are just coming back from the body piercing studio where you have been pierced :
The most important part of the healing phase is this very first month after being pierced, so make sure you persevere in showing your new little hole(s) in the ear tender love and care !!
- Never take off your ear piercing jewellery, for any reason whatsoever!!!
- Obviously, always wash your hands carefully, preferably with a ph neutral soap...
- Use an antiseptic spray (dyaseptil, biseptine) on your ear piercing, and wipe it with a cotton-bud to remove impurities. Try not to use cotton fibres as they can carry bacterias.
A few months later, you
are now able to put on new ear piercing jewellery !
Keep taking care of your body piercing and your body jewellery, and you shouldn't wake up one day with a head the size and shape of elephant man's ! As soon as your piercing is well healed you can decide to put on the beautiful piece of jewellery that you acquired many months ago.
- Clean your ear piercing jewellery with a saline wash sold in chemists
- Clean your new body jewellery with alcohol 70 °, but check out for acrylic-made tips and designs, as they could deteriorate (roughness, loss of color) due to the aggressive properties of alcohol
Notes:
You can find cleaning wipes on the market. They work well and are quite cheap, but not designed for Bioplast or Teflon.
Bathing your jewellery in an ultrasound tank is the best solution to clean it. Matters such as PTFE and Teflon absorb ultrasounds insteadof reflecting them, so it will be useless on jewellery made from these elements...
